Obesity is a
big problem and it is a leading cause for mortality and morbidity. Someone is
said to be obese when their weight is a threat to their health. In general,
obesity is the result of over consuming unhealthy diets and lack of exercise.
The modern
world is constantly bombarding people with high-calorie and increasingly food
in the form of fast food or junk food. Prepared foods contain high levels of
fat, sugars or salt, which are coupled together with sedentary lifestyles,
increased urbanization and ever-changing transportation modes leading to the
increase of obesity in the last few decades. According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), over 2 billion people aged 15 years and above are
overweight with 400 million adults displaying signs of obesity worldwide.
